Makinde under fire for donating N100million for monarch’s palace renovation
Nigerians on Twitter have taken to the comment section of the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde post to call him out over his N100million donation for the renovation of Soun of Ogbomoso’s palace.
The Palace was vandalized during the #EndSARS protest in the community.
The monarch’s palace was attacked by residents of the community after he was accused of doing nothing concerning a student identified as Jimoh Isaiq who was shot dead during the #EndSARS protest last Saturday, October 10.
Governor Makinde visited the monarch on Tuesday, October 13, and announced a N100 million donation towards the renovation of the palace and N1 million to families of those killed during the protest.
He wrote on Twitter:
We were also at the Palace of Kabiyesi, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, the Soun of Ogbomoso. We pledged the sum of N100 Million to begin immediate repairs of the palace and replacement of destroyed properties.

*** Then the parents of the youths that lost that lives during the protests should at least get minimum of 100 million in compensation then. Except the king’s palace is worth more than human life.
*** I see no reason why 10 million shouldn’t have been more than enough to cover the damages to the palace shown. Someone died and you offered 1 million??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pathetic mate
