FG earmarks N6.14bn for Tinubu’s foreign trips
The federal government has earmarked N6.14 billion for President Bola Tinubu’s foreign trips in the proposed 2026 appropriation bill.
According to the proposed 2026 appropriation bill, an additional N873.88 million was allocated for local travel, bringing the president’s total travel budget to N7.01 billion.
For Vice-President Kashim Shettima, the bill provides N1.73 billion for general travel and transport.
The allocation includes N417.48 million for local travel and N1.31 billion for international trips.
In 2024, Tinubu slashed the number of officials accompanying him on both local and international trips by 60 percent.
In the 2024 fiscal year, Tinubu and Shettima planned to spend a combined N8 billion on both local and international travels.
Tinubu presented the N58.18 trillion 2026 federal budget to the National Assembly on December 19, 2025, following approval by the federal executive council (FEC). (The Cable)
