Portable released after a week in police detention
Portable, the controversial singer, has regained his freedom after spending a week in police custody.
On January 12, the singer was arraigned before a court in Ota, Ogun State, on charge including assault, theft, causing harm and resisting arrest. He was also accused of stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at N12 million.
The court denied him bail after the police officer involved in the case was absent.

In a now-viral video, Portable is seen surrounded by his associates, who celebrated his return and repeatedly welcomed him back.
During the moment, the singer jokingly declared that his new name is “Innocenty”.
In an Instagram post, Baby Luv, Portable’s manager, shared a photo of the singer with his first wife Bewaji while appreciating her for standing by him during his legal troubles.
“All glory to God. Grace spoke, mercy prevailed. #Freedom. She stayed when it was hardest. God honoured her faith #Thankful,” she wrote.
This is not Portable’s first time in detention. Since rising to fame in 2022, he has been arrested, arraigned, and remanded multiple times, over eight occasions, across various prisons in Kwara, Ogun, and Lagos states. (The Cable)
