Rivers crisis: Again, Fubara, Wike meet Tinubu in Abuja
In a significant move toward resolving the long-standing political crisis in Rivers State, President Bola Tinubu has again met with Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The late-night intervention by President Tinubu aimed to end the rift between the two influential political figures, which has caused deep divisions in the Rivers State House of Assembly and led to multiple legal battles.
While official details of the outcome have not been fully disclosed, reports indicate a positive shift; Governor Fubara reportedly accompanied Wike to his residence in Guzape, Abuja, following the talks.
Unconfirmed accounts also claimed that Fubara appealed to the minister and pledged to avoid any actions that could be perceived as disrespectful, signaling a possible reconciliation between the two influential political figures.
The President’s strategic intervention is viewed as an effort to stabilize governance in the oil-rich state and prevent further escalation ahead of future political cycles.
