NAHCON Chair, Prof Abdullahi Usman, resigns
The Chairman and Chief Executive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has resigned his appointment.
The Eagle Online learnt about the development late on Monday through the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR) Online publishing services
The IHR is a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) with specialisation in reporting Hajj and Umrah.
The Eagle Online learnt from another source that Usman’s decision was taken after careful reflection.
The source said: “His resignation was not linked to any boardroom pressure or crisis, but driven by his desire to step aside at this time.”
According to the source, he said his decision was in the best interest of NAHCON and as such decided to disengage quietly, having contributed to strengthening corporate governance and stability during his tenure.
As at the time of filling this report, neither the government nor NAHCON has made any official statement about the resignation of Usman.
