Manchester United announced yesterday via a club statement that they have completed the transfer of Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.
The transfer of the former Juventus Superstar took a drastic turn when rumours surfaced that Ronaldo’s agent, Mendes was in negotiations with Manchester City on Friday morning. However, according to reports, Manchester City was doubtful about the chance to sign him and pulled out of the race, which paved way for Ronaldo to join his boyhood club after twelve years apart.
According to Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United paid a total sum of €23 million – a fee of €15 million with €8 million add-ons fee to the Italian side, Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo with a two-year contract.
The 36-year-old is set to earn around £480,000 per week on a two-year contract that’ll run till June 2023. His staggering wages makes him the highest-paid in the Premier League overtaking the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, Grealish, Pogba, De Gea, Aubameyang amongst the rest.
