The Russia 2018 FIFA world cup came to a befitting climax yesterday in Moscow as France emerged Champions of the world for the second time in their history.
The French defeated Croatia who throughout the competition showed determination to clinch their first title in the tournament since they first participated in French soil. Incidentally, France had beaten the Croatians in the Semifinals of France 1998 and went on to win the tournament by defeating Brazil.
Among spectators at the Luzhnik Stadium yesterday, venue of the finals were world leaders and FIFA dignitaries which included host President Vladimir Putin, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the President of France Emmanuel Macron and that of Croatia Kolinda Kitarović.
Both visiting presidents came to cheer their respective countries to victory and we couldn’t help up notice and admire their passion in their expression of support to their teams. The also showed a very high level of cordial and mutual respected while they presented the winners’ medals to the players and it was just lovely to watch.
