A 30-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly firing multiple gunshots at the Beverly Hills-area residence of Barbadian pop star Rihanna while the singer was inside the house, authorities in the United States have said.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers responded to reports of a shooting around 1:21 p.m. on Sunday in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighbourhood of Los Angeles, California.

Police said the suspect fired several rounds from inside her vehicle toward the mansion. One of the bullets reportedly penetrated a wall of the property, while other rounds struck the gate and a recreational vehicle parked in the driveway.

Authorities said no injuries were recorded in the incident, according to Los Angeles Times.

Investigators said the woman, who was driving a white Tesla, opened fire from across the street near the property’s gate before fleeing south on Coldwater Canyon Drive.

Police dispatch audio indicated that at least 10 shots were fired.

During the search, officers relayed descriptions of the suspect over police radio, noting that she had braided hair and was wearing a cream-coloured blouse.

A police helicopter later located the vehicle and followed it to a shopping centre parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where the woman was arrested roughly 30 minutes after the emergency call was made.

LAPD spokesperson Armen Arias said officers searched the vehicle and recovered an assault rifle along with seven shell casings.

The mansion is reportedly shared by Rihanna and her partner, American rapper ASAP Rocky. The couple have three children together.

It remains unclear whether other family members were inside the residence at the time of the shooting.

The incident comes years after another security breach involving the singer. In 2018, a man broke into Rihanna’s home in the Hollywood Hills and remained inside for about 12 hours before being discovered by her assistant.

He later pleaded no contest to stalking charges
