The family of the slain 22 year-old Osun lady Shakirat, rejected police bid to carry out an autopsy, spokesperson of the Osun Police Command, SP Yemisi Opalola, said.

She said the family opted to bury her, without it.

“We have released the corpse to the family,” Opalola said.

She however said the police have commenced investigation into the killing.

Shakirat was found dead a day after she was declared missing. She was found with some vital parts of her body missing.

She disappeared on 9 March and was last seen in the early hours of Wednesday afternoon.

She was, however, found dead on Thursday morning, March 10 after a massive search was conducted for her.

The search led to the discovery of her body at the back of her mother’s shop at Oke-Oore, Iwo, Osun state.

Shakirat’s corpse was later recovered by the police and deposited in a mortuary.

Reports said the victim was murdered and dumped at the location she was found by suspected ritualists.

A Facebook user identified as Basheer Horlar claimed that a member of his team who is related to the deceased told him her mother had advised her not to go out the day she went missing.

He also alleged that she had gone with some Yahoo boys on the fateful day.
