I’ll trek from Accra to Lagos if Ghana lose to Super Eagles, says John Dumelo
John Dumelo, the Ghanaian actor and politician, has boasted that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will lose the first leg of the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off tie against the Black Stars.
Nigeria and Ghana will slug it out at the 40,000–capacity Baba Yara Stadium later today — where both teams will battle for the ticket to Qatar.
The return leg is scheduled to take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium four days later.
Ahead of the much-awaited tie, Dumelo took to his Facebook page on Friday to give his prediction while also aiming a dig at the Super Eagles.
The actor said “there’s no way” Nigeria will win the first leg of the game.
He also vowed to trek barefooted from Accra to Lagos on Saturday if Ghana lose the match.
“There’s no way Nigeria will win today’s match. If they do, I John Setor Dumelo, will walk barefoot from Accra to Lagos tomorrow morning with my ginger on my head! Super eagles my foot!” he wrote.
It remains to be seen if the film star is serious with his vow.
The Super Eagles arrived in Kumasi on Thursday ahead of the match after their final training session at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Wednesday.
Austin Eguavoen’s men will be hoping to bounce back from their shock exit from the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
