All roads lead to Abuja as Fayemi joins presidential race
Ekiti State Governor, Olukayode Fayemi, will declare his intention to run for the 2023 Presidency on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
The declaration titled “Unveiling my Nigeria Agenda” will take place at the Congress Hall in Transcorp Hotel, Abuja.
Fayemi, who is the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, is expected to use his position to attract top politicians to attend the declaration event.
According to the video posted by Ekiti state Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Hon. Akin Oyebode, the event will start at 11 am.
In the one-minute video Fayemi said;
“The Nigeria of our dream is possible, a Nigeria that is the pride and joy of all, among others. A Nigeria that is responsive to the yearnings of her citizens. A Nigeria that will be great.
“There is a path to Nigeria’s greatness. Together let’s work together on Nigeria’s unfinished greatness.”
With his 2023 presidential intentions now confirmed, the list of APC presidential aspirants in the southwest has been further swelled.
Fayemi will now have to battle Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi, Chris Ngige, and others.
The flagbearer of the APC ticket will be decided between May 30 and June 1.
