NNPP Picks Oladejo As Gubernatorial Candidate In Lagos

Lagos State chapter of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) has held its gubernatorial primary election, with Honourable Sheriff Oladejo winning the ticket of the party.

The candidate emerged by consensus.

The primary election, monitored by DAILY INDEPENDENT, took place at the party’s Secretariat Annex, 28 Bishop Crowther Street, Surulere.

The gubernatorial delegates from the 20 local governments of the state affirmed his election.

The party’s former state chairman, Mallam Shakirudeen Olamilekan Olofin, who was the returning officer for the election, announced the decision of the delegates to the party faithful at the venue.

The state chairman, Chief Adisa Falade, who was represented by the State Vice Chairman, Hajia Dr, Zainab Adebayo, congratulated the candidate and urged the members to ensure maximum participation in all electioneering processes to make the dream a reality come 2023 general elections.

The election was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agents and several journalists.

The party’s presidential candidate, Engr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was ably represented by Dr Abubakre who delivered his goodwill message, while the SouthWest representative, Mr Ade Coker, admonished members on the need to put up strong publicity for the party at all levels.

The State Treasurer, Alhaji Tijani Abubakar, urged members to utilise the opportunity created by INEC, to assist new members to register to obtain their PVCs.
