Atiku Abubakar, PDP’s Presidential candidate has reacted to Ayo Fayose’s support for a Southern President.

It can be recalled that we reported earlier that the former Ekiti State Governor on Wednesday called for a Southern President as the constitution of PDP stipulates that power should rotate between the North and South.

“The current President of Nigeria is a 2-term Northern Presidency, thus implying that it MUST be a Southern Presidency in 2023 or NOTHING. Awa ‘South’ lo kan’. Nigerians should await details soon.”

He added that the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party’s stipulates that power must rotate between the South and North .

“The PDP Constitution provides for a rotational Presidency. Section 3(c) provides that the Party shall pursue its aims & objectives by adhering to the policy of the rotation & zoning of Party & Public elective offices in pursuance of the principle of equity, justice and fairness.“

Atiku Abubakar has reacted through his media aide, Paul Ibe. He said all aggrieved parties will be approached so as to be able to win the 2023 election.

He told Premium Times, “It is normal for our people to be aggrieved but the PDP has a way of resolving issues like this and that will be done and we all shall be happy.

“Because the bigger challenge is winning the election, kicking out the APC and stopping them from the many years of impoverishing our people.”
