Ronaldo Leaves Fans Furious As He Departs Old Trafford During Friendly Match
Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, left Old Trafford before the final whistle of Man United’s friendly with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Ronaldo started the first half and was substituted at half-time for what was his first appearance under new coach, Erik Ten Hag.
This was also the Portuguese star’s first appearance since last season.
In a match which ended as a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano, Ronaldo alongside teammate Diogo Dalot was pictured leaving the stadium and entering the car park at around the 80th minute of the friendly match.
Ronaldo then waved at onlooking fans before leaving the stadium’s premises.
With rumors linking him with a summer transfer, United fans were excited to find out that he would be making his return for the Red Devils for their friendly match against Rayo Vallecano.
On social media, he had told his fans “Sunday, the king plays” which led his fans to believe that he intends to stay at the club.
Ronaldo’s earlier departure from the stadium then reignited the speculations that he still intends to leave the club.
Notable Manchester United fan and online commentator, Mark Goldbridge, deemed his early departure as “disrespectful” and in a reaction video shared via Twitter, he said “it’s just weird behavior.”
It was later reported by UnitedStandMUFC via Twitter that: “Cristiano Ronaldo alongside other players) in the director’s box (Bruno, De Gea, Martial and more) left the match early which was sanctioned by Erik Ten Hag, reportedly to beat the traffic and crowds.”
