15-year-old student guns down teacher in school, then kills himself

A 15-year-old student fatally shot himself after shooting a teacher at a Texas high school, U.S. media reported, citing authorities.

The shooting occurred at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Bulverde, a city located in Comal County in Texas on Monday, with no other injuries reported.

The student shot the teacher before turning the gun on himself, said Comal County Sheriff Mark Reynolds.

He added that investigators were working to understand the relationship between the student and the teacher and looking into how the firearm was obtained.

Class would be canceled at the school on Tuesday, and counselors would be available to meet with families, Principal Julie Wiley said in a statement. (Xinhua/NAN)
