I’m more of an eagle than a parrot — I talk less but do more, says Tinubu
Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says he is a person who prefers to act beyond mere words.
In a tweet on Monday, the APC candidate described himself as “more of an eagle than a parrot”.
“I talk less, think more and do more. I am more of an eagle than a parrot. That is why I fly higher,” he tweeted.
Although he didn’t give a context for his tweet, Tinubu’s post may be connected to the criticism that trailed his absence at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in August.
Despite being invited as one of the panelists at the event, he failed to show up.
He was, however, represented by Kashim Shettima, the APC vice-presidential candidate.
Following the event, Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, asked Nigerians not to listen to any presidential candidate who speaks to them through proxies.
At the unveiling of the Tinubu/Shettima door-to-door campaign group in Abuja, the APC presidential candidate also took a dig at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying he wonders why the major opposition party still exists.
Tinubu, who described the PDP as a party that lacks direction, urged members of the APC not to be bothered about the opposition.
“We are not just the ones to hurl abuses and insults at our rivals’ party. We don’t need it. We are smarter; we are brilliant; we are courageous; we are not like them,” he had said. (The Cable)
