A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has said the most sensible thing for his party and Labour Party to do in the upcoming March 11, 2023 governorship election in Lagos State is to collaborate.

The former Military Governor of Ondo State said this in an interview he granted Sunday PUNCH on the election.

While Dr. Abdulaziz Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, is the candidate of the PDP for the election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is the flag bearer of the LP.

The Eagle Online recalls that Rhodes-Vivour left the PDP after the party’s primaries was won by Adediran and he was not chosen as his running mate.

Adediran rather opted for Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, professionally known as Jenifa, as his deputy governorship candidate.

In the interview with Sunday PUNCH, George said the best option was for both parties to combine strength for the governorship poll, but that the first step was to hope that the Independent National Electoral Commission with Professor Mahmood Yakubu as Chairman would allow for free and fair polls.

He told Sunday PUNCH: “I don’t know yet.

“I think that will be the most sensible thing for them to do but I don’t know yet.

“We still have some hours ahead of us and so many things can still happen.

“We pray for the best but we must start from Yakubu and his team for honesty of purpose, fairness, justice, equity, civility, and the fear of God the almighty.

“It is for all of us to beg the Almighty God to forgive us all our sins otherwise if you intentionally sin against your creator, you will suffer.”
