“Tinubu has been disqualified” – Atiku’s camp replies Keyamo
Daniel Bwala, an aide to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has responded to a comment by Festus Keyamo where the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) mocked the opposition for “reading sections 1 to 320 of our Constitution over and over again and hosting Twitter spaces here and there to see which sections they can use to disqualify” the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Keyamo, also the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, had insisted that Tinubu is preparing to take his Oath of Office.
But responding to Keyamo’s jibes, Bwala said Tinubu “has been disqualified from [sic] the electoral act”, adding that “the constitution will convict him”.
“The spokesman (referring to Keyamo) said people are searching the constitution from sections 1 to 320 to find a ground to disqualify Tinubu. No no no. He has been disqualified from the electoral act [sic] before we even reach the constitution. By the time we reach the constitution it will be to convict him,” Bwala wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Monday night.
This newspaper reports that the two main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party have approached the court in a bid to retrieve their alleged stolen mandate from Tinubu.
