Why Trump will not be re-elected president – Hillary Clinton
Former US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton believes that former President, Donald Trump will not be re-elected president next year.
Clinton, in an interview with SkyNews on Tuesday said even if Trump gets Republican nomination, he would not be able to defeat President Joe Biden in next year’s presidential election.
She said Trump’s behaviour and his crooked business records that had seen him been indicted might stop him from being re-elected.
Clinton accused Trump of doing things he accused others of and that he is someone who cared nothing about rules and nothing about the law.
She said the former US President was free to contest as there is nothing in US system of laws that would stop him.
“I always thought about him and if you follow him, he accused people of doing things himself is doing, it is a form of psychological projection, I always thought of his records of doing business in particular, but then as we saw him in politics and government, he was someone who cared nothing about rules, he cared nothing about the law.
“He has been indicted, maybe others as well, but he has said he is going to keep running, but there is nothing in our system of law that will prevent him from running, but even if he gets the Republican nomination, he cannot, in my view, be re-elected president,” Clinton stated.
When asked why she thought Trump could not be re-elected, Clinton said: “Because more people are anti-him and his behaviour as they were before, he has a hard core of support that will likely help him win the Republican nomination, but in a general election against President Biden, I do not believe he can win.”
She was asked again if she believed Trump posed the biggest threats to Biden’s re-election than Ron DeSantis.
Clinton replied: “It is hard to tell, Ron DeSantis is unproven, nobody outside Florida really knows much about him and in Florida, they watched him do crazy things, so I actually believe President Biden will be re-elected regardless of who the Republican nominee is.”
Trump defeated Clinton to win the presidency in 2016 despite the latter winning the popular votes, but failed to win the electoral college.
