Serena Williams debuts pregnancy bump at Met Gala
Serena Williams debuted her baby bump as she walked the red carpet with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Williams confirmed her second pregnancy to reporters at the Met Gala, saying there were “three of us” on the red carpet.
Ohanian was seen on the red carpet gently resting his hand on the 41-year-old tennis player’s midsection.
After welcoming daughter Olympia in 2017, the 23-time major winner announced last year that she was “evolving away from tennis,” writing in a Vogue magazine article that she wanted to expand her family.
The announcement made a return to competitive tennis for Williams, one of the most decorated athletes in history, appear highly unlikely.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” Williams said in a TikTok post on Monday evening.
To honour Karl Lagerfeld, she wore a form-fitting black gown with a white skirt. Her gown had a plunging bedazzled collar that emphasised her cleavage, which she concealed with multiple thick strands of pearls draped around her throat.
