OAU faults law firm for filing post-UTME suit with outdated NBA seal
The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Legal Unit has officially responded to the law firm that issued a pre-action notice against the university over alleged irregularities in its Post-UTME process.
In the reply dated October 4, 2025, the Legal Unit noted that the lawyer’s correspondence from Kene Nnadi of F.K. Nnadi & Co, Enugu State, bore a 2024 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) seal; meaning he hasn’t updated his practicing license for 2025. The university therefore requested that he establish his current right to practice in accordance with professional regulations.
In the letter signed by the Director of Legal Services, Yinka Ayantola, the university wrote: “It is our observation that the seal you affixed to your letter under reference is your 2024 seal. As you are aware, you have a duty to pay your practicing fee for 2025 to enable you to write as a lawyer. It is therefore our request that you establish your right to practice for the year as required by the relevant regulations. I have the instructions of the University to request you to do the needful.”
