BREAKING: Rivers State Assembly Leader, Ediso Ehie, Removed as Plot to Impeach Gov. Fubara Thickens
The House Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Edison Ehie, has been removed from his position just hours after rumours of an impending impeachment procedure against the state Governor, Sim Fubara, began to circulate.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, made the announcement of Ehie’s removal. He is said to be a strong supporter of Governor Similanayi Fubara. The Lawmaker was said to have frustrated the initial attempt to initiate impeachment proceedings against the governor.
Recall that on Sunday night, a fire broke out at the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters, but the cause of the blaze is still not ascertained.
Governor Siminalayi Fubarab stormed the Assembly Complex this morning. According to him, the suspension of Ehie and four others is null and void.
