Christmas: Soldiers now receiving alerts after FG’s intervention in salary delay my military
The Nigerian government, represented by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has stepped in to resolve the delayed December salaries for the nation’s soldiers.
Amidst concerns over the non-payment of their dues during the festive season, the government says it has taken proactive measures to address the situation.
Matawalle, in a statement, said he has personally engaged with the relevant authorities, including the Accountant General of the Federation and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to expedite the resolution of the salary payment delay.
Confirmed reports have indicated that payments have now commenced, bringing relief to the soldiers that their salaries are being processed and reaching their accounts.
Expressing gratitude to the concerned authorities for their swift action following his intervention, Matawalle praised the dedication and commitment exhibited by the military personnel despite the initial challenges in receiving their December salaries.
He emphasized the importance of boosting their morale, recognizing their vital role in upholding the nation’s security and stability.
Matawalle reaffirmed his commitment to leveraging his position within the government to support the Nigerian Military’s welfare continually.
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the brave men and women of the Armed Forces, highlighting their resilience and unwavering dedication to duty as an inspiration for the nation.
His words: “I hope the payment will boost your morale to carry on your constitutional duty of protecting the nation.
“As the Minister of State for Defence, I am aware of the sacrifices made daily by our brave men and women of the Armed Forces in ensuring the safety and security of our nation. Your dedication, resilience and commitment to duty serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration to us all.”
The Minister also urged all Nigerians, irrespective of their religious affiliations, to pray for the safety and well-being of the military officers who work tirelessly to protect the nation’s territorial integrity.
