Amotekun arrests man in Osun for ‘hypnotising’ woman who refused his advances
The Osun command of the south-west security network known as Amotekun has arrested one Babalola Timothy for allegedly hypnotising a married woman after she refused his love advances.
In a statement on Wednesday, Bashir Adewinmbi, commander of the Amotekun corps in Osun, said the suspect used a “magic ring” on the 35-year-old woman and locked her away in his home.
“Amotekun operatives on Monday arrested Timothy, from Modakeke, for the abduction of a 35-year-old married woman, using a magic ring,” the statement reads.
“The suspect asked her out when the victim approached him in September 2023 to help sell her palm oil, because he sells palm oil.
“She refused his advances and three [months] later he called her to tell her that he will help her sell her palm oil.
“When she visited him, he hypnotised her, changed the SIM card in her mobile phone, locked her in a room where he fed her and randomly had sex with her.”
The Amotekun commander said the suspect freed the victim and dropped her off at the Obafemi Awolowo University campus area in Ile-Ife on March 29.
He said the suspect was later trailed to his hideout in the Sekona area of Ile-Ife where he was arrested after the victim reported the case to the police.
Adewinmbi said Timothy confessed to getting the magic ring from one “Alfa Ilorin”, an herbalist in the Sekona area of the state.
The commander also said the suspect had been transferred to the Director of State Security Service (DSS) for subsequent investigation and prosecution.(The Cable)
