A new study has revealed that South African women have the biggest average hip size in the world, ahead of countries like Nigeria and the United States.
“The statistic states that, on average, South African women have a hip size of 41.73 inches,” the study revealed.
“This number represents the mean hip size of a sample of South African women and is derived from collecting measurements from each woman and calculating the average of those measurements.”
The research, compiled by data analysts at Gitnux, looked at data from multiple sources to determine hip circumference in various regions.
“We have learned that hip size can vary significantly depending on factors such as age, ethnicity, and geographical location,” the study says.
“Through analysing data from various sources, we have discovered that the average hip size for women typically falls between a range of measurements.”
The average hip size for women in the United States is 40.2 inches, according to the study. But South African women top that with 41.73 inches.
This means that, when considering a large sample of women across the country, the hip sizes range from smaller to larger, but on average, they tend to be around 40.2 inches.
The study, however, concluded that “these statistics are just averages and individual body types can vary greatly.”
The statistic states that, on average, Swedish women have a hip size of 40.94 inches.
In Canada, the average hip size for women is approximately 40.3 inches.
The average hip size for Australian women is reportedly 40.5 inches
In India, the average hip size for women is 36.1 inches.
China’s average hip size for women is approximately 37.4 inches
For Japanese women, the average hip size is found to be about 37.8 inches.
The average hip size for South Korean women is about 38 inches.
Nigerian women, on average, have a hip size of about 38.56 inches
German women have an average hip size of 40.6 inches.
In France, the average hip size for women is 40.25 inches
The average hip size for women in the Netherlands is approximately 40.35 inches.
In Italy, the average hip size for women is 40.55 inches
In Russia, the average hip size for women is 40.55 inches.
Greek women have an average hip size of 40.74 inches.
The study refers to the average measurement of hip size for women in Argentina, which is approximately 41 inches.(Guardian)
