Political campaigns during electioneering processes always come with sweet and mouthwatering promises many of which the candidates and parties have no capacity fulfill. In many cases, politicians employ the strategy of consultation and town hall meetings just to get the attention of the people in canvassing for votes. This has always been the norm from local government level up to the national level. Electioneering period is a period that politicians become the true friends of the people.

The politics of electioneering politicking involves political parties and candidates tagging their manifestoes for the people with certain theme, slogan or acronym that will suit their intentions. Many do this just to capture the votes of the people by tagging their manifestoes with captions that address the yarning of the people. In this way, they make the people believe that they are part of them and in the same manner, know their problems and how those problems could be solved. All these strategies are to get the votes of the people.

In the case of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his electioneering period, he tagged his policies as *”Renewed Hope Agenda”*. His vision was to renew and rekindle the hope of millions of Nigerians many of whom were seemingly hopeless at the time. The cause of the hopelessness was not far fetched as the country was faced with serious crises of insecurity, food crises, economic downturn, massive corruption among others.

Without any iota of skepticism, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was highly committed to his inaugural speech on May 29, 2023 when he announced that he would give Nigerian workers not just a minimum wage but a living wage. The breaking news of a minimum wage of #70,000 to Nigerian workers was unprecedented in our national history as this is the first the minimum wage would be increased by over one hundred percent with a promise of review after three years. This is a gesture that Nigerian workers will never forget in a hurry.

As enshrined in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, many of the policies in his manifesto are gradually being taking care of. He has began to prove himself as a leader who walk his talk. His Renewed Hope Agenda priotises giving Nigeria a true democratic federal system of government in which every tiers of government functions optimally. His commitment centered on building a democratic system where no level of government override the other.

BAT’s 4/4 Renewed Hope Agenda salutes the courage of our president, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to through the machinery of the law to give Nigeria back to Nigerians. The supreme court judgement affirming the financial autonomy of local government was one that has laid to rest the abuse of power by state governors to remove democratically elected local government chairmen and appoint caretaker committee. This is a victory for Nigerians at the grassroot.

Also, BAT’s 4/4 Renewed Hope Agenda commends and appreciates the president on his decision to suspend import duties, tariff and taxes on food commodities. This will no doubt ease the suffering of Nigerians by reducing the prices of food commodities in the country. This will also leads to food sufficiency and curb the malnutrition occasioned by food scarcity.

Furthermore, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu promises of bringing competent and well experienced hands into his team is a never a fallacy from his day one of his first appointment. It is on this note that we appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his most recent appointments especially that of Mr. Tosin Adeyanju who worked very hard towards the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president. This shows that our president is a leader who truly appreciates and rewards loyalty. This is who a leader should be. It is our belove that all the appointees will deliver on the confidence our president has in them.
