ALLOW LOVE, PEACE AND PATRIOTISM TO PREVAIL – APC SUPPORT GROUP TELLS NIGERIAN YOUTHS READY TO JOIN PROTEST
An APC Support Group, BAT’s 4/4 Renewed Hope Agenda has called on Nigerian youths to look beyond the present situation in the country and realise that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu really mean well for the country. This call was made in a press release made by the Director General of the group, Engr. Dan Ohiomoba to the leadership structures of the group. Engr. Dan Ohiomoba charged the members of the group from the national, state and local government levels to refrain from joining the proposed #EndBadGovernment protest scheduled to commence on the 1st of August, 2024. According to him, there is no justified basis for the said protest.
The press release which not only address his group members but Nigerians at large especially the youths enlisted the many achievements and successes made by the president in the last one year. The DG of BAT’s 4/4 Renewed Hope Agenda emphasized that no president in our democratic history within one year in office has done half of what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done in the same period. He therefore urge Nigeria citizens to exercise a little patience with the president and keep faith with his Renewed Hope Administration. He reiterated his believe in the capacity and commitment of the president to put the nation on the path of sustainable development for the overall interest of the country.
According to the press release, “I am obligated by the virtue of my office to inform all members of BAT’s 4/4 Renewed Hope Agenda at all levels that we are not part of any protest against this government. This is an administration we supported with our sweat, time, resources and energy to bring into power. We will only protest against this government if it derailed from the Renewed Hope Mantra that we believe in. We call on our members across the country especially at the grassroot not to join any protest and so also we call on Nigerian youths to do the same by refraining from anything that will truncate the gains we’ve had in the last one year.”
“Nigerians must realise that one year in not enough of determine the success or otherwise of any administration. Those calling for this protest also know this but lack of patriotism on their part and their bitterness and hatred for this government remain their motivation to go ahead. Why will anyone want to protest against a government that in one year, gave Nigerians policies like the removal of the scam called fuel subsidy, gave us student loan, provide agricultural inputs for farmers and gave out food items like rice, millet e.t.c. to states, return financial and fiscal autonomy to local governments, increase minimum wage by over one hundred percent, allows Dangote and other local refineries to buy crude oil in naira rather than dollar among other policies with direct benefits to the populace.”
To those ready to go ahead with the protest, Engr. Dan Ohiomoba call on them to protest peacefully in love and patriotism urging them to refrain from destroying national assets and monuments. To him, he believes some Nigerians would still want to go ahead and protest against the government noting that it’s their constitutional rights but warned them against causing more problems for the nation in term of destructive activities. He warned that Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians hence protesters should not disturb others that will be going about their lawful businesses in the course of their protest.
Engr. Dan Ohiomoba used the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of BAT’s 4,/4 Renewed Hope Agenda to the Renewed Hope Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu adding that the group is in total support of the solid democratic foundation the president is currently laying for the country. He also implore Nigerians to be patient with the president as he’s systematically transforming the Nigeria state into a more vibrant democratic nation through his people-centered and people oriented policies and good governance.
