A political group, No Alternative To Tinubu/Shettima 2023, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s reforms will ultimately outweigh the current economic hardship.

The group’s National Coordinator, Mr Vincent Uba, conveyed this optimism in a letter to Nigerians, noting that though the pain is real, the eventual benefits will be transformative.

Uba compared the nation’s plight to a pregnant woman enduring labour pains, which are forgotten when her child is born.

He urged Nigerians to be patient and show support, warning against blaming or cursing the president.

“Just as the Israelites suffered in the wilderness before reaching the Promised Land, Nigeria is undergoing its own challenging journey,” he said.

He acknowledged that the economic hardship is not unique to Nigeria, citing Venezuela, Sudan, Kenya, and even the United States as examples of countries grappling with difficulties.

Uba praised Tinubu for implementing bold reforms, such as student loans, regional development initiatives, and infrastructure projects like coastal roads and revamped rail transport.

Commending Tinubu’s decision to increase the minimum wage and provide palliatives, Uba emphasised the need for Nigerians to examine leadership actions rather than engage in criticism.

He urged citizens to pray for their leaders, drawing inspiration from the Bible’s teachings.
