The Ounjè Eko Sunday Market, a government-backed initiative aimed at providing affordable food items to residents, witnessed a significant surge in attendance on Sunday.

The market located at the Former Nursing School Ground in Ikoyi, offered a 25% discount on various essential food items. Residents flocked to the venue, eager to take advantage of the reduced prices.

Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu, representing Eti-Osa constituency 02, visited the market to assess its operations and expressed his satisfaction with the turnout.

He commended the Lagos State government for the initiative, noting that it has provided much-needed relief to residents facing rising food prices.

“This is a great program that is helping to ease the financial burden on our people,” Yishawu said. “We are distributing N1,000 vouchers to residents to further reduce their expenses.”

The Ounjè Eko Sunday Market is part of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s broader initiative to alleviate the financial strain on Lagosians. By providing discounted essential goods and support in various sectors, the government aims to improve the quality of life for its citizens.
