Members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently engaged in a crucial closed-door meeting with the party’s caucus in the National Assembly.

The meeting is ongoing at the PDP office, Legacy House, in Maitama, Abuja, amid the party’s ongoing struggle to address internal discor of its prominent chieftains.

The PDP has faced increasing turmoil since the 2023 elections, with notable friction within its ranks.

Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum has been criticized for his perceived lack of decisive action to address the party’s issues.

The situation has been made worse by persistent criticisms from Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, directed at Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara and the PDP Governors Forum concerning the party’s organizational structure.

Recall that the BoT Chairman, Adolphus Nwabara, Secretary Senator Ahmed Makarfi, and other key members held a closed-door meeting with Wike in Abuja on Tuesday.

Similarly, the BoT met with the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, in Bauchi on Wednesday.

The current meeting with the National Assembly caucus includes notable federal lawmakers such as Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Lere Oyewumi, House of Representatives Minority Whip, Hon. Ali Isa JC, and Hon. Pastor Ojema Ojotu.
