In a surprising development, Vinicius Junior and Real Madrid might be missing the upcoming Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The prestigious event where the 2024 winner will be unveiled, will take place on Monday night at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France.

As anticipation builds, top contenders such as Vinicius, Rodri, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe are all in the running for the award.

There had been strong speculation that Real Madrid superstar Vinicius was the frontrunner to claim the prestigious award.

However, just hours before the ceremony, a major twist has emerged.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano disclosed that Madrid will not attend the ceremony in Paris.

He wrote via his handle, “Vinicius Jr will NOT travel to Paris as Real Madrid know he will NOT win the Ballon d’Or.

“No one from Real Madrid will attend the ceremony. No Florentino Pérez, no Vini Jr, no Carlo Ancelotti, no Jude Bellingham.”

Fabrice Hawkins, also added: “Real Madrid’s directors are furious. They are certain that Vini Jr will not win the Ballon d’Or. The Real delegation remains in Spain.

“The trip to Paris is cancelled.”
