Coalition condemns commencement of 2027 campaigns
The Coalition of Civil Society organisations in Nigeria (CCSON) has condemned what it described as the commencement of political activities and campaigns towards the 2027 general elections in many states in Nigeria.
It noted that the act was not just premature but detrimental to effective governance in those states, urging governors to focus more on the provision of dividends of democracy to the people.
National Coordinator of CCSON, Otuekong Isong, during a media briefing in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, yesterday, urged those involved to halt further political campaigns until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lifts the ban on political activities and campaigns towards the 2027 general elections.
He said CCSON frowns on the apparent or subtle commencement of political activities and campaigns towards 2027 elections in many states.
