LASG cancels work-from-home for civil servants

The Lagos State Government has announced the cancellation of its work-from-home model for civil servants.

The state Head of Service, Bode Agoro, made this known in a circular issued on Tuesday.

The state government had extended the work-from-home policy for three months last September, allowing the workers to work remotely on some days.

The measure was part of the methods to cushion the effect of the economic hardship in the state occasioned by the economic reforms introduced by the Federal Government.

However, Agoro said further to the implementation of the new minimum wage and other welfare measures put in place by the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration, “it is hereby notified for general information that Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the cancellation of the work from home initiative in the Lagos State Public Service.”

He added, “To this end, cancellation of the work-from-home initiative, which had been in place since February 2024, will take effect from March 31, 2025.

“In view of the above, public servants are implored to fully rededicate themselves to the effective discharge of their duties and ensure improved service delivery in their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies.”
