Veteran Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba (2face), has reunited with his mother, Mrs. Rosemary Idibia, amid speculations surrounding his alleged marriage to Honourable Natasha Osawaru.
Recall that Mrs Idibia had earlier made headlines after publicly pleading for intervention in her son’s personal affairs. In a widely circulated video message, she appealed to Nigerians to help persuade Natasha Osawaru to “release” 2Baba from what she described as a troubling situation.
“This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son,” she stated.
The situation escalated when the Idibia family, through their lawyer Wilson Anuge, petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS), declaring 2Baba missing. According to the petition dated February 7, 2025, the family reported that the singer had been missing since February 10, after he left his residence in his loungewear for what was believed to be a routine walk and never returned.
However, in a video making rounds on social media on Sunday, 2Baba and his mother were seen posing for photographs, surrounded by close friends and associates. In one of the videos, Natasha Osawaru appeared alongside a teenager, with 2Baba later joining them, dressed in black sportswear.
2Baba recently confirmed his relationship with Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party. His confirmation came shortly after announcing his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, with whom he shares two daughters.
In a video shared on Instagram, the singer openly professed his love for Osawaru, stating, “Yes, I love her. She’s amazing, she’s cool. I want to marry her.” He also emphasized that Osawaru had no role in the issues that led to his separation from Annie.
On February 13, 2025, footage surfaced online showing 2Baba proposing to Osawaru in the presence of close friends.
Shortly after, Osawaru updated her Instagram bio to read ‘Honourable Natasha IDIBIA’, hinting at a formal union between the pair.
As of the time of filing this report, neither 2Baba nor Natasha Osawaru has issued further official comments on their relationship or the earlier family concerns.
