Miyetti Allah lauds Tinubu over creation of Livestock Ministry, urges states to create same

The Fulani herders’ community in Nigeria under the auspices of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development from the Ministry of Agriculture.

MACBAN President, Alhaji Baba Othman Ngelzarma, gave the commendation in Kaduna during the inauguration of the Kaduna State Executive of MACBAN, saying that, the creation of the Ministry will not only boost the Nigerian economy through livestock production, but also address the lifelong farmer-herder clashes.

Ngelzarma while commending some state governors in the Northern Region for creating the Livestock Ministry in their states, appealed to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State and his colleagues in other states to emulate President Tinubu in that direction.

Speaking at the event, Governor Uba Sani urged the Fulani community in Kaduna State to be law-abiding and live in peace with their neighbours.

The governor who was represented by the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr James Kanyip, charged the new Leadership of MACBAN in Kaduna State to wake up, as their emergence was coming at a time when there are challenges in the state and beyond.

He noted that, presently there is a stereotype against the Fulani name. “So the leadership has a lot of challenges before it. The state government is ever ready to collaborate with any organisation in promoting peace and tranquility,” he said.

In the same vein, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad and DSS Director, Mr. Hakeem Abiola, described the new Chairman of MACBAN as a committed leader and charged him to be more vigilant and report activities of any bad elements in the state.

In his appreciation remarks, the new MACBAN Chairman, Alh. Abdulhamid Musa Albarka, thanked all dignitaries for attending, and promised to cooperate with the security agencies and other concerned ministries and agencies in the state in promoting peaceful co-existence.
