Toke Benson-Awoyinka Bags Best Commissioner Award at 2025 Global Excellence Recognition Awards
Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, has been named the Best Commissioner of the Year at the 21st edition of the Excellence Recognition Awards.
The prestigious event, which celebrates outstanding individuals and institutions across various sectors, was held on Sunday at Etal Hotels and Halls, Oregun, Ikeja.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Commissioner was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olanrewaju Bajulaiye, accompanied by senior management staff. He lauded Benson-Awoyinka’s visionary leadership, noting that her tenure has brought transformational growth to the tourism, arts, and culture sector in Lagos State.
According to him, the award is a fitting tribute to the Commissioner’s unwavering dedication and commitment to elevating Lagos as a cultural tourism hub.
Bajulaiye also commended the organisers of the awards, led by Mayor Akinpelu, for consistently spotlighting excellence and celebrating trailblazers who are making a difference across the state.
He further emphasized the vital role of tourism and culture in driving sustainable development and youth engagement, describing the sector as a key contributor to Lagos State’s global cultural appeal.
