The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a septuagenarian man, Mr Arimazoya Abona, after killing his wife in Edo State.
The sad incident occurred on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Ubuneke-Ivbiaro Community, Owan East Local Government Area of the State.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the man’s house at about 8pm, shot his wife in the neck, and immediately forced him to go with them.
Report has it that the aasilants came through the bush path on the Ivbiaro-Auchi-Ikpeshi forest to abduct the man.
Flowing the abduction, youths in the community were said to have immediately mobilized into the bush in pursuit of the hoodlums in a bid to rescue the victim without success.
Men of Afuze Division of Nigeria Police, where the incident was reported, were said to have visit the scene of the incident alongside personnel of the Nigerian Army.
Meanwhile, the abductors have since contacted the family of the victim and are demanding ₦100 million ransom.
