Ferdinand urges Man Utd to sign Osimhen over Gyokeres

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged the club to prioritise signing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen over Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres as they look to bolster their attacking options.

The Red Devils endured a disappointing campaign, finishing 15th in the Premier League and falling short in the UEFA Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur. The attacking duo of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failed to meet expectations, prompting calls for reinforcements.

Gyokeres enjoyed a sensational season at Sporting Lisbon, scoring 39 goals and providing eight assists en route to a Portuguese League title.

However, despite the Swedish forward’s stellar form, Ferdinand believes Osimhen is a better fit for United’s needs.

“I think Gyokeres, everyone’s talking about him. Again, I think if I’m looking at the market now and I had to pick him or Osimhen, I’d probably pick Osimhen because of that experience,” Ferdinand told The Mirror.
