Our pastors must give their lives to Christ – Lawyer reacts as Police investigates Adefarasin
A human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has reacted to the announcement by the Nigerian Police that popular pastor, Paul Adefarasin is under investigation.
The police in a statement issued on Tuesday, June 17, said the pastor and founder of the House on the Rock Church is being investigated for wielding a gun-like item while being recorded by a Lagos-based content creator.
In the statement titled, ‘No one is above the law’, the police said Adefarasin had turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
The police statement comes after a viral video surfaced online showing the pastor threatening a content creator for making a video of him while he drove past a street in Lagos State.
Reacting to the investigation by the police, the lawyer said the optics are bad for Christendom.
He wrote on X, “Imagine police investigating a pastor for waving a suspected firearm at a Nigerian! And all the guy did was video record the fine car of the pastor and he didn’t know who was inside at the time.
“The optics is bad for Christendom. Our pastors must truly give their lives to Christ and become more like Jesus. Will Jesus threaten anyone?” Adeyanju queried.
