PSC Hands Over 50,000 Recruits To Police For Training

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has handed over the list of 50,000 recruited police constables to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for subsequent training at colleges and institutions.

The presentation of the list was done on Thursday at the PSC’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, the country’s capital.

A statement by Torty Kalu, PSC spokesperson, said the list of successful candidates,  contained in a flashdrive, was handed over to the police.

Paul Adamu Galumje, PSC commissioner, who represented the commission’s chairman, presented the list to Isyaku Mohammed, deputy inspector-general of police (DIG) in charge of training and development.

Speaking during the ceremony, Galumje said the recruitment exercise was conducted in line with the directive of President Bola Tinubu.

Receiving the list, Mohammed commended the PSC for a transparent exercise and assured that training will commence nationwide once funds are released

The event was attended by NPF officials, representatives of the ministry of police affairs and PSC.

In December 2025, PSC opened the process for recruiting 50,000 constables into the NPF.

The process was sequel to the directive of Tinubu to strengthen community policing and enhance internal security.

In March, PSC commenced physical and credential screening for the applicants. (TheCable)
