James Ibori leads 1999 class of governors to visit Tinubu
James Ibori, a former governor of Delta State led his former colleagues of the 1999 class of governors to visit President Bola Tinubu.
Ibori and the governors visited the president at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja.
In a video post shared on X, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun said Ibori, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) visited the president on Friday, July 25.
While details of their visit to the president are yet to be made public, sources said the former governors’ visit is not unconnected with the consultations and realignment of politicians ahead of the 2027 general election.
Dada wrote in his post, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu receives in Audience, class of 1999 Governors led by H.E. James Ibori, Former Governor of Delta State at the State House.”
This particular visit adds to a series of meetings between the president and several key political leaders across the country.
On Thursday, a former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso was at the Presidential Villa to visit President Tinubu.
