JUST IN: Police Arrest Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer Aloy Ejimakor, Others During Abuja Protest
Security operatives have arrested Aloy Ejimakor, counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Ejimakor revealed this in a post on his X handle on Monday, stating that he and several others participating in a protest were apprehended by the police.
He wrote: “We’ve just been arrested — myself, Prince Emanuel, and others. We are at FCT Command CID, No. 1 Zaria Street, Garki 2, Abuja.”
Earlier, Ejimakor had accused security operatives of firing teargas to disperse peaceful protesters demanding Kanu’s release, adding that the fumes caused irritation to his eyes and throat.
The protesters had gathered in Abuja on Monday to press for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since June 2021.
The demonstration was part of renewed calls on the Federal Government to obey court orders directing Kanu’s release.
