BREAKING: Tinubu Nominates Dr Bernard Doro As Minister, Sends Name To Senate For Confirmation
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded the name of Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State to the Senate for confirmation as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The nomination follows the elevation of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, to the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.
In a letter addressed to the Senate and read on the floor during plenary, President Tinubu urged the lawmakers to give Dr Doro’s nomination prompt consideration and confirmation.
Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr Doro brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experiencespanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, as well as an MBA with a focus on IT-driven business strategy and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Dr Doro is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), where he has worked across urgent care, walk-in centres, GP practices, and hospital settings.
Beyond his professional career, he has led several youth mentorship and social impact initiatives in the diaspora and within local communities in Nigeria.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.October 21, 2025
