BREAKING: APC denies withdrawing presidential campaign council list

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports that it has withdrawn the list of members appointed to its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, dismissed the reports on Tuesday, describing them as rumours.

Morka said that if there were any changes to the campaign council or its membership, the party would formally announce them.

The denial comes just days after the APC unveiled its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu serving as chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman. APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda was also named a vice chairman, while former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was appointed Director-General.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma was named secretary, while several other senior APC figures, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Femi Gbajabiamila, were assigned key responsibilities.

The Presidency formally published details of the council on August 22, 2026, following the release of the membership list.

Morka’s clarification therefore suggests that the widely circulated reports of a withdrawal should not be treated as an official change to the APC’s campaign structure unless the party announces such a decision.

The development comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with Tinubu seeking a second term amid increasing political activity across the country.
