Suspected thugs on Thursday morning invaded the Ondo State House of Assembly complex amid the ongoing impeachment proceedings against the Speaker, Hon. Olamide Oladiji.

Sources within the Assembly alleged that the group was from Ondo town, the constituency of the embattled Speaker.

According to staff members, the suspected hoodlums moved from one office to another within the Assembly complex, creating tension among workers and lawmakers.

A staff member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the situation was brought under control through the intervention of a lawmaker, Hon. Olajide Oguntodu, other members of the Assembly, and security operatives.

The source said the combined efforts of the lawmakers and security agencies led to the removal of the suspected thugs from the premises, restoring normalcy to the legislative complex.
