Nigerian stock market valuation hits all-time high of N162.39trn
The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) market capitalisation rose to an all-time high on Monday after closing at N162.39 trillion.
NGX valuation rose by 0.14 percent from the N162.15 trillion recorded on Friday.
This followed a 352.24 basis points increase in the all-share index (ASI), which closed at 250,156.80 ASI, above Friday’s 249,804.56 index.
Trading ended on Monday with 68,655 deals involving 574.19 million shares valued at N38.06 billion.
TOP TRADERS
Zenith Bank recorded the highest trading volume, with 77.07 million shares valued at N9.90 billion.
Mutual Benefits Assurance followed with 53.58 million shares worth N205.59 million, while Sterling Financial Holdings recorded 44.23 million shares valued at N339.33 million.
Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) traded 25.86 million shares valued at N3.41 billion, while AIICO Insurance recorded 24.38 million shares worth N91.92 million.
TOP ADVANCERS
Omatek Industrie led the gainers, rising by 10 percent from N1.20 to N1.32.
Thomas Wyatt Nigeria also gained 10 percent, moving from N2.30 to N2.53, while NASCON Allied Industries rose by 10 percent from N160 to N176.
SUNU Assurances increased by 10 percent from N2.80 to N3.08, while Consolidated Merchant Bank gained 9.8 percent, rising from N2.04 to N2.24.
TOP DECLINERS
Okomu Oil Palm led the decliners, falling by 10 percent from N1,418 to N1,276.20.
Custodian Investment declined by 9.13 percent from N75 to N68.15, while Sovereign Trust Insurance fell by 8.64 percent from N2.20 to N2.01.
Haldane McCall dropped by 8.33 percent from N3.60 to N3.30, while Ellah Lakes declined by 5.39 percent from N8.35 to N7.90. (TheCable)
