Sowore Seeks To Inaugurate AAC Campaign Council In Aso Rock, Writes Tinubu
The African Action Congress (AAC) has written to President Bola Tinubu, seeking approval to hold the inauguration of its presidential campaign council, at the nation’s seat of power in Abuja on November 11.
Oshiokhue Ikpeminoghena, the party’s national secretary, shared this in a statement on Wednesday.
The party also asked for food, drinks and other support for 5,000 participants from Nigeria and abroad, citing similar arrangements reportedly made for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“On behalf of the African Action Congress (AAC), I respectfully write to request approval to hold the inauguration ceremony of our Presidential Campaign Council on the 11th of November 2026 at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, in preparation for the 2027 general elections,” the statement reads.
“In the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties, we also request the provision of food, drinks, and other logistical support for 5,000 participants from home and abroad at the event, consistent with the arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement.”
The party said approving the request would demonstrate the presidency’s commitment to fairness, equal access and non-partisan use of public institutions.
It also said it is hopeful that Tinubu would approve the request and provide details of the procedures and conditions for holding the event.
