Various communities under Community Development Committee (CDC) in Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA) yesterday appealed to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal to restores sanity in the area over the recent attacks allegedly sponsored by some aspirants to elective posts.

The council Chairman, Shuaib Fatai Ajidagba was attacked last Wednesday by some touts after leaving a political meeting.

Ajidagba accused former Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Kolawole Taiwo of sponsoring the attack.

But Taiwo on Sunday distanced himself from an attack, saying that ascribing the attack to him was something uncalled for.

The CDC in a statement by its Chairman Alhaji Aminu Adebimpe and Secretary Mr Tejumola Mehmud, condemned “these acts of thuggery, cultism and political brigandage in totality. It will not only paralyse the economic and social life of our communities but will also bring fear, confusion and intolerance.

“It is also unbelievable and unthinkable to see some of these hoodlums still parading themselves along the major streets with arms daring anybody to confront or challenge them in this lawful society. This is bad and totally unacceptable. The mostly affected areas where these miscreants hide and regroup are Campus junction and Ilenjeyan Base both in Amukoko; Salam Shoye base at Alaba-Oro and Zumura Base at Ojo Road.

“In fact, these same set of thugs suspected to be loyalists of a former Deputy Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly unleashed terror on the residence of Otua and Dispensary Streets while they were pasting his poster in 2015 were seen at the scene of last Wednesday attack on the council Chairman. The question now is who informed these boys of the meeting venue and time. No other member of the G10 had any entourage except the lawmaker and his supporters.”

The CDC urged Governor Ambode to call on the security agencies to investigate and bring to book the perpetrators of the attack on Ajidagba.   (The Nation)
