Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has assented the bill for the creation of four emirates councils of Gaya, Rano, Karaye and Bichi.
Ganduje said the law would come into effect immediately.
He said all necessary processes for the appointment of emirs and kingmakers would immediately commence.
Ganduje assured that government would provide everything needed to ensure smooth appointment and turbaning of the new emirs.
The Kano State House of Assembly had earlier today, passed the bill into law.
The law means the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II will now oversee only 10 local government areas of the state.
