Couple found dead in their hotel room during vacation in Dominican Republic
Months after a Delaware mom said she survived a savage beating while on vacation in the Dominican Republic, an engaged Maryland couple was found dead inside their hotel room in that country, according to new reports.
Cynthia Day, 49, and Nathaniel Holmes, 63, checked in to the Bahía Príncipe Playa Nueva Romana on May 25 and were due to depart Thursday, the same day their bodies were discovered in a room reportedly with ‘no signs of violence’,Daily Mail reports.
In Facebook images posted Tuesday Holmes said he was having fun. In a caption he declared he’d had the ‘boat ride of a lifetime!!!’
At one point he wrote: ‘Can somebody please loan me $250,000 bcuz I don’t want to come home!!!!!’
They are the second American couple who have died in the Caribbean country since March.
Their causes of death have yet to be determined, but the bodies show no signs of violence, according to the report.
The couple had been staying at the hotel since May 25, and were set to leave the day they were found, hotel complex director Francisco Romero told the outlet.
A Maryland couple has been found dead in the Dominican Republic with several bottles of heart medication nearby, the U.S. State Department said. A hotel worker found the recently engaged couple,but it was not reported whether the bottles were empty.
Diario Libre reported that Dominican Republic’s National Police found in their investigation Holmes had called for a hotel doctor Thursday morning, complaining that he felt ill.
However he reportedly refused medical care when they showed up.
